Once upon a time, in olden times, there was this villager
Kažkada, labai seniai, buvo toks kaimietis.
He lived in a small village, by the name of Mindaugai.
Jis gyveno mažam kaime, kuris vadinasi Mindaugai.
The village was a part of the Town of Joniskis
Kaimas priklause Juoniškio Miestui
which is one of the seven towns of Siauliai County.
kuris yra vienas iš septyniu Šiauliu Apskrities miestu.
The villager had heard about a particular great city, Kaunas.
Kaimietis buvo girdejes apie toki žinoma didmiesti, Kauna.
This wish came to him to travel and to see this renoun place.
Užsimane jis pakeliauti ir pamatyti šia gražia vietove.
So, one day he began to travel on foot through fields, paths and roads.
Tai, viena diena pradejo keliauti pesciom per laukus, per takus ir kelius.
He didn't want to rush,
Jis nenorejo skubeti.
This was the first opportunity for him to see the other side of Lithuania.
Cia buvo pirma proga jam pamatyti kita Lietuvos dali.
You see, the Town of Joniskis is far from Kaunas, next to the Latvian border.

After a while he arrived in the town of Siauliai.
Veliau atvyko i Šiauliu rajona.
Walking further he saw a large steeple.
Eidamas tolyn pamate dideli bokšta.
Oh! So Siauliai, is a real city,
O! Tai Šiauliai, tikrai didmiestis,
but not Kaunas
bet ne Kaunas.
Regardless, none the less a beautiful city.
Nepaisant to, vistiek gražus didmietis
He went further through the town of Radviliskis
Ejo tolyn per Radviliškio rajona.
Even further, and arrived in Kaunas County and the Town of Kedainiai.
Dar tolyn, ir atvyko i Kauno Apskriti ir Kedainiu rajona.
And even further, into the Town of Kedainiai.
Ir dar toliau, i Kedainiu miesta.
Wow, is this not a wonderful place.
Va, ar čia ne puiki vieta.
Kedainai down town in particular is a beutuful area, but not Kaunas.
Kedainiu centras ypatingai graži vieta, bet ne Kaunas.
And even further, he arrived in Kaunas Region Municipality
Ir dar tolyn, ir atvyko i Kauno rajona.
Oh! What a beautiful area, the villager caught by amazement.
O! Kokia graži vietove, nustebo kaimietis.
Even further, and from a distance he saw the towers of the City of Kaunas
Dar tolyn, ir ištoli pamate Kauno miesto bokšus.
He came closer and was amazed
Priejo arciau ir nustebo.
So, this is a real City.
Tai, čia tikrai didmiestis.
The villager stood and looked and looked in astonishment
Kaimietis atsistojo ir ilgai žiurejo nustbes.
After some time a dog came bye and started looking, just like the villager
Veliau atejo šuo ir pradejo žiureti kaip kaimietis.
And later came a man from Kaunas.
Dar veliau atejo Kaunietis.
And he also stopped to look at what the villager and the dog were interested in.
Ir jis irgi sustojo pažiureti kuo kaimietis šuo domesi.
The man from Kaunas after a while said." Good day."
Kaunietis veliau tare., "Gera diena."
The villager replied. " Very, ....wondeful day."
Kaimietis atsake. "labai, ...puiki diena."
The man from Kaunas asked." Does your dog bite.:
Kaunietis paklause. "Ar tavo šuo kanda."
"Oh, never," Replied the villager.
"O, niekad" Atsake kaimietis.
So, the man from Kaunas started to pat the dog
Tai, Kaunietis pradejo šuni glostyt.
WROOF WROOF the dog barked and bit the man from Kaunas in the hand to the bone.
WROOF WROOF šuo sulojo ir ikando i Kauniecio ranka iki pat kaulo..
"Oi, brother, Oi Brother OOOOOOO" Screamed the man from Kaunas.
"Oi, broli, Oi Broli OOOOOOO" reke Kaunietis.
"Why did you say your dog never bites." The man from Kaunas said in pain.
"Kam tu sakai kad tavo šuo niekad nekanda." Kaunietis sako skausmingai.
"Oh, that's the truth. My dog never bites." Replied the villager
"O, teisybe. mano šuo niekad nekanda." Atsake Kaimietis
"Čia ne mano šuo"
" This is not my dog."
Never assume.
Niekad nemanyk.
